Ocean State Disaster Team – Emergency Assistance Information

The Ocean State Disaster Team (OSDT) is dedicated to supporting families and individuals across Rhode Island who have experienced devastating losses, such as house fires, floods, or displacement. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide critical assistance and essential resources during times of crisis.

Request Assistance

Anyone may call to request assistance for individuals or families in need, including victims of:

  • House fires

  • Flooding

  • Natural disasters

  • Emergency displacement

  • Homelessness

  • Other emergency hardship situations

Resources We Provide

The Ocean State Disaster Team may provide the following assistance to displaced individuals and families:

  • Toiletries and personal hygiene items

  • Emergency food supplies

  • Clothing

  • Bedding and blankets

  • Pet food and pet care supplies

All assistance is provided based on individual needs and availability.

Volunteer Screening and Safety

To ensure the safety and well-being of the families we serve:

  • All Ocean State Disaster Team volunteers undergo a Criminal Background Check (BCI/CORI) every six (6) months

  • Our organization maintains strict safety, accountability, and professionalism standards

Ocean State Disaster Team personnel do NOT self-deploy to active emergency incidents.
